  • ‘If we are to rise to the climate challenge, boards need to embed sustainability, pronto’

I am frequently asked by my students whether I am an optimist or a pessimist about our future. Invariably, I paraphrase the distinguished environmentalist and author Paul Hawken: “If you look at the science about what is happening on Earth and aren’t pessimistic, you don’t understand the data. But if you meet the people who are looking to restore this Earth and the lives of the poor and you aren’t optimistic, you haven’t got a pulse.” Image: Channels: Communications and EngagementEthics and GovernanceTags: sustainable businesscorporate actionCISLEarth on BoardCompetent BoardsIPCC
